“The main visual ideal for this film was to try to make the CG feel textured and warm, just like an inked illustration on paper,”, says Hibon. “We tried to create a different look by reproducing the ink lines and the hand-drawn feel directly onto the CG models. I also wanted to approach the direction/animation style differently, by applying 2D techniques to CG; not use motion capture or realistic animation, but work with stylised motions, key frames and parallaxes. I think the end result has got a definite feel; a combination of all those ideas.”

Rex The Dog returns with another cracker of a single, the second track to be taken from his debut album released earlier this year “The Rex The Dog Show”.

“Bubblicious” is an outrageously infectious pop track with a massive pile of remixes from Felix Da Housecat, Familjen, Jesper Dahlback, Congo Rock, Zoo Brazil and Ben Hoo.

The video features great stop motion animation, courtesy of producer Jake Williams, including a keyboard-playing replica of the Rex mascot himself.

One trillion dollars; it’s a number that few people can comprehend, let alone your standard nine digit calculator. There have been attempts to put this number into perspective before. A trillion dollar bills laid end to end would reach the sun or you spend a dollar per second for 32,000 years or one trillion dollars in pennies would weigh as much as 2,755,778 Argentinosauruses (the largest known dinosaur). Fanciful as this may be, the real story behind one trillion dollars is in its economic impact. Let’s investigate what one trillion dollars can do.

A two-minute animated voyage through nature’s life cycle, following the trials and tribulations of a humble apple seed.

The film was kindly funded by Adobe, made using their CS4 range of software. It was produced at Nexus Productions and features a soundtrack by Jape. It was made using a mixture of stop motion papercraft and 2D drawn animation.

We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth’s climate. The stakes are high for us and our children. Everyone should take part in the effort, and HOME has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being.

Home is a 2009 documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. The film is almost entirely composed of aerial shots of various places on Earth. It shows the diversity of life on Earth and how humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet. The movie was released simultaneously on June 5, 2009 in cinemas across the globe, on DVD, Blu-ray, television, and on YouTube. Opening in 181 countries, the film broke the world record for the largest film release in history^. The film was financed by PPR, a French multinational holding company specializing in retail shops and luxury brands, as part of their PR strategy.

The documentary chronicles the present day state of the Earth, its climate and how we as the dominant species have long-term repercussions on its future. A theme expressed throughout the documentary is that of linkage—how all organisms and the Earth are linked in a “delicate but crucial” natural balance with each other, and how no organism can be self-sufficient.

The recently launched LEGO CL!CK site has premiered a very neat stop-motion short film to promote the message of spontaneity and creativity.

The video follows a fancy inventor with a voluminous moustache, through the torment and struggle of creative block that he ultimately overcomes with the help of enlightening LEGO bricks. Entering a LEGO dream world, the viewer learns about the fact that “great ideas just CL!CK” as our intrepid inventor is shown around a mythical LEGO ideas factory, where the secrets of human flight and world peace appear to have been cracked.

Drop Out is a 3-minute animation with surreal horror elements. The short film portrays the circle of life in an artificial Science-Fiction world, which is controlled and observed by a disembodied force. The force selects the inhabitants of this world carefully.

Main theme of the film is the selection in our society. Essentially a natural process, but in this context it is portrayed very artificial, sterilized and implemented via very inhuman mechanics. The process of selecting humans is omnipresent in our society. It is executed in applications, immigrations, abortions and maybe in near future the pre-selection of the own children because of small unwanted genetic influences. The problem of the proceeding overpopulation and the consequent drastic reducing of resources give pre-selection also eligibility. The film describes a fictional vision, if one of the last ethical hurdles is jumped: the large-area pre-selection of the next generation.
